RE: [Premier League] Newcastle Vs. Man Utd (11/02/18)
Anyway, I see some arguements about how the defence has remained the same since the Fergie days (mind you Fergie never played this back 4) despite of all the millions we've spent. But there are options and I am not talking just about the (always) injured Bailly. Our bench today featured 75 million worth of defenders: Lindelof, Shaw and Rojo. Rojo on his day can be better than Smalling or Jones. Shaw, on recent form should be starting. Lindelof has made a number of errors but why did Jose even bother buying him if he doesn't trust him?

Time to mix things up because the Valencia-Smalling-Jones-Young line will be found wanting badly in the Champions League.

RE: [Premier League] Newcastle Vs. Man Utd (11/02/18)
From the minute the line ups was released you knew, there is something wrong. I blame Mourinho entirely but I can highlight the individuals he trusted to let this club down.

Square pegs in round holes
1st Half - Young, Pogba, Martial were in the wrong positions
2nd half - Add in Sanchez shafted right side, Carrick who is past it. Mata who will effect nothing especially with us 2nd best physically.

Luke Shaw is our best left back, there is no disputing it. Young has had good games but he is not the best left back. Shaw is left footed, aerially strong, reliable going forward and defensively solid. Young will give 100% but he's not a natural. It's quite obvious like with De Bruyne, Salah & Co, we clearly cannot trust the judgement of Mourinho over young players.

Smalling & Jones
How shambolic was Smalling? I don't know how we don't sell him this summer !
Jogging backwards when he should be sprinting, standing in the wrong places, causing penalty situations. Playing everyone onside. Passing like a pussy.
Jones is easily the better of the two by a small margin. The cunt is shouting instructions and pointing but contributing fuck all.
Constantly instructing the brain-farter and giving him the easy option to find Newcastle. At times he stood in midfield rather than getting into position and simply lacks the character and discipline to lead and command. Needs a superior footballer next to him .

Matic is doing a triple shift while Pogba plays no matter what.
No wonder he's toasted. Pogbrat wasn't even fit and its a change from his usual contribution which is to do fuck all to help Matic.
Surely an injured Pogbrat needs dropping or to put another midfielder in to support. How on earth did McTominay get overlooked? Carrick is too old to even get 10 mins, lets not pretend he's Paul Scholes because he isn't.
There needs to be a midfield 3 especially away from home and in the big games. How Jose so blind to this?
We got bossed by Diame and Shelvey and Dier and Dembele FFS. Is Jose that bad a manager? I am beginning to think so !

No clear instructions
There is no clear way we are playing, We don't have a style we can associate with the club.
Why are the two full backs not pumping crosses to Lukaku?
Why are we not pressing from the front? Guys like Lukaku,Sanchez, Lingard, Pogba, McTominay should be pressing the team forward.
Why is the midfield not protecting the defence? Why is the midfield non existent? Clearly we need 3 lined up in front of the back 4. Which would ensure Sanchez and Lingard can stay as further up the field as possible.

If Martial was going to start it was either down the left or down the middle. On paper he was down the right but who was our option down the right? I barely so Lingard and Martial interchanging and you have to wonder, it looks like they are playing without being coached? Is Mourinho coaching the attack or is he just putting players out there to wing it and make it up as they go along.

The manager is clearly getting it all wrong. Rather than playing the best team he is playing his favourite 11. Rather than covering up the weaknesses and playing to our strengths we are leaving the door wide open to get fucked as easily as possible. I don't think Spurs and Newcastle were tactical masterclasses, they just showed some impetus when the opposing side started so slowly it invited them to venture forward because they won't get hurt.

Next game is Huddersfield away. What needs to happen?
Kill the 4231 if Pogba is available.
Don't play Smalling. Play Rojo and Shaw. Take Young/ Valencia out, too many old heads,
Play McTominay beside Matic, if Pogba is fit, add him to the midfleld.
Supply Lukaku. Sanchez, Shaw, Valencia, Lingard, Pogba should be trying to find him.
Lukaku played well against Newcastle and should be carrying on to take 7-8 chances scoring at least 2. He also needs to hold up the ball to bring guys like Lingard, Sanchez, Pogba into the game.

We have to play a strong side in the FA Cup. The signing of Sanchez is indeed a hammerblow to Rashford, Mata and Martial, no doubt about it. If Pogba is unfit, we can put either put Sanchez central or bring in Mata. Alternatively, putting Sanchez in behind the strikers allows us to pick Martial/Rashford in a more familiar position.

2 Losses in 3, my belief in Jose is at rock bottom. We are in scrap for top 4 when we should be running way with 2nd spot. To be 16 points behind City is inexcusable. To have lost 5 games at this point is far too many games lost. Huddersfield, Chelsea, City, Leicester and now Newcastle is 3 too many defeats. There is still plenty to play for. 2nd place, FA Cup and we have to get past Sevilla.

The puzzle is now why Jose seems to understand the squad and team less now than he did at the same point last season.

I certainly don't agree with this contract extension, Jose has not yet earned a 3rd season yet he is guaranteed one at this point. By the end of the season I expect 2nd place, FA Cup silverware and get further than Sevilla in the CL.

The way things have gone with 2 defeats in 3 that now looks in doubt. I am at rock bottom with Jose.

If those objectives begin to look unrealistic at any point from now till the end, I don't want Jose for the dreaded 3rd season.

To earn another season, there has to be progress. Either 2nd best or nothing. Either win a cup or we sack him for being trophyless on the back off £300m investment and Sanchez. Look how ruthless we are with players, the manager deserves the same kind of cut throat approach.

I swear on my remaining good eye, I will not another game with that back 4 or that 11. In fact if Smalling and Jones play together I am not going to bother anymore. If Rojo is fit, he starts. If Bailly is fit, he starts. Lindelof is garbage, would rather be a man down. Blind deserves better than to be in the stands while Lindelof even dons a squad number.

The way things are going, its become more and more blatantly obvious how far behind we are . Not only are 4-5 players short of having a good squad, we need to move on 5-6 players we almost never trust like Darmian, Blind, Lindelof, Smalling, Carrick and question marks over Fellaini, Mata and Herrera.

Personnel aside, the manager seems to be far off where needs to be. He certainly not the manager Chelsea had in 2004, or Inter had in 2010 and he was better at Real and Chelsea than he has been here. We've got the worst version of our manager and it's become pathetic how much lee-way he will get now that football's savior Pep Guardiola run's wild on the PL. I am still measuring our manager by our own standards and he's falling short .

Hi Cedars. Long time no speak. I hope you are well. I think the problem is these people just don't know how to stop. They are professional opinion givers but are people I would never ask the opinion of (if you ask me my opinion lol).

Anyway I thought I'd pop in to see what is being said about last nights decent result away to Juventus. ABU central lol. I didn't want Mourinho and I will always find his personality abrasive - and there are no buts. He makes it all about him and you know this club is bigger than any individual that has had a part to play in its history. I'm not gonna turn into a bin dipper like some I could mention, though. I hate Liverpool. Hate hate hate them and it should go without saying. Some of our away fans got on my tram a few weeks back on their way back from a game in London. I always like to hear their opinion because they are a special breed. Every penny they earn goes towards supporting our team and for me they should egt free tickets to home games, instead of those who don't know the songs. Anyway they talked about how good Liverpool are looking, but the way they said it was like they had puke in their mouths - and that's understandable because they support Manchester United. People who spend all their time preaching negativity on forums are people that I as a united fan do not relate to. They are nothing, their opinions count for zilch.

This dimwit is a hypocrite. He doesnt even know it, the ditzy cunt. All fans have opinions and whether right or wrong you have no higher intelligence no standing to say who is the elite and who is a peasant fan.

Seems you have an elitist- bitch attitude who holds away fans on a pedestal and the rest below. You are a fool. A teenager from Delhi, India who is disillusioned is just a big fan as Big Drunk Dave from Salford.

Fool.

"ABU Central". Icon_lolIcon_lolIcon_lol

There was literally just 2 of us giving our thoughts on the game and JC had nothing negative to say. So I guess that makes me ABU Central. To clarify though, I am not ABU. I am ABMou. And I will continue to be until his toxic classless ass fucks off. I don't care if he manages the team I support. I won't support him. Period. Unlike some, I didn't begin supporting the club for the trophies, nor did I begin supporting it for one particular person. Not even Sir Alex.

But hey, if xol doesn't like it, he can stick to listening to that wonderful special breed of away fans. Until they turn on Mourinho as well and he throws his toys out of the pram again. Icon_lolIcon_lolIcon_lol

Like I said the other day, what a sad state our fanbase is in right now. Especially the Cult of Jose.
